“I’ve always felt different, without knowing why. My school reports cards back then almost always said things like: ‘You get distracted easily,’ ‘You look out the window too often,’ or ‘You don’t pay attention in class.’ Many of those comments shaped who I am as a person. Until I found out that I have ADHD. By learning more about what ADHD actually is and how to cope with it, I’ve come to realise that there are positive aspects too. Now, I’m happy to embrace it, and I enjoy thinking outside the box.”

“I can’t relax until my entire to-do list is finished, and even then, I find it hard to do nothing. That’s just not for me. I find peace in doing something calmly—an activity that doesn’t require me to think. Or, on the contrary, focusing on something specific so that I can completely immerse myself in it. What really helps me is listening to music while I’m busy. That way, I can still clear my head.”

Bachelor's thesis in interior design - 2025

A piece of seating that embodies mental chaos translated into physical form. You see something different each time, much like shifting thoughts. From every angle, you discover something new: a piece of furniture, an installation, a sculpture. It is a representation of thoughts that invites you to lose yourself in it.

This work is based on my own experience with ADHD. Because ADHD is generally less physically visible in women, I want to shed more light on what ADHD can also entail. In women, ADHD often manifests itself more internally, affecting thoughts and emotions. Again, this is a deeply personal experience and can vary greatly from person to person.
